📜📸 Introducing Documented Storytelling and Photo Booth at ROAR Summer Festival! 🎉🌞

We are thrilled to announce that Documented will have a special booth at the upcoming ROAR Summer Festival on August 5th and August 12th. As a non-profit news site dedicated to covering New York’s immigrant communities and the policies that impact their lives, we are excited to connect with Chinese and Spanish-speaking migrants during this vibrant event.

Our passionate journalists will engage with the community offering booklets containing actionable step-by-step information to help them navigate New York City’s programs and resources.

But that's not all! We are eager to learn more about YOU, your culture, and your unique experience.

At our booth, we are asking the attendees to answer two short questions to help future New Yorkers adapt to the city.

📷 Our team will also take stunning portrait photos of each participant, for a photo essay that will be woven into an engaging article that recaps the enriching event. This article will not only entertain and inform our broader audience but also give a heartfelt tribute to the inspiring individuals we met.

Hope you can join us at our booth during the ROAR Summer Festival!

Documented

Documented is a non-profit news site devoted solely to covering New York City’s immigrants and the policies that affect their lives.

Critical to our mission is ensuring we break the cycle of extractive immigration reporting, for that reason we rely heavily on listening to New York’s immigrant communities. Their insights inform our work and we create journalism in response to their needs.

We provide original reporting on the ground-level impact of shifts in labor policy, law–enforcement practices and bureaucratic requirements, and on the effects of new federal directives. And we’ll keep you updated on the most important news from elsewhere.
